In the last several months I have been fortunate to have landed assignments photographing in National Parks across the U.S. I have been on assignment at Denali Park in Alaska, Olympic National Park on the Washington Coast, Shennendoah and Skyline Drive in Virginia and most recently travelled to Chicago to photograph a 45 million dollar hotel renovation.
As a documentary photographer, I couldn't believe my luck in scheduling the shoot the same week as the election; knowing that whoever won, I would capture an historic moment in our nations history. After unsuccessfully attempting to get press access to the event, I decided to leave the flash and studio lighting in the hotel and head out with only the camera and multiple memory cards. The main event took place in Grant Park, while all of us common people gathered in Butler Field at the end of the park. Here are a few of the many images taken from this historic night. Technical Note: The images were shot on the Nikon D-700 at F2.8/ISO 6400 with the lighting provided by the Jumbotron.
